Recently, we have welcomed a number of new staff members to Alwen Hough Johnson Limited in London as well as to AHJ Europe AS in Oslo.

We are pleased to announce the following:

Alice Stuart-Brown joined AHJ in January 2024  as a Catastrophe Modeller across the Nordic and Caribbean teams. Alice graduated with a master’s degree in epidemiology two years ago in which she picked up skills in statistical analysis and a strong understanding of the maths behind event modelling. After this, Alice worked for a year as a cat modeller at Gallagher Re with the Latin America and Caribbean team.

Lucy Gibbs joined AHJ in January 2024 as a Trainee Underwriter in the Global Yacht Cover team. Lucy previously worked in retail and has made a move into underwriting to progress into a new career and to get experience in the industry.

Michelle Yeung rejoined AHJ in February 2024 as an Assistant Divisional Director in the Non-Marine International – Caribbean team. After living in Singapore for a few years Michelle is now enjoying rediscovering the wonderful world of reinsurance broking. The vast majority of Michelle’s experience has been spent conducting business within the International Reinsurance community, including business production, quoting and placing through to completion.

Laura Clothier joined AHJ in May 2024  as an Assistant Underwriter in the Global Yacht Cover team. Laura has worked in the Insurance industry for 10 years, 8 of which have been dealing with yacht insurance.

Jack Hooper joined AHJ in May 2024 as a Service Desk Analyst in the IT & Operations team. Jack worked previously as a Service Desk Engineer with Redinet, a Managed Service Provider but providing on-site dedicated support to VisitBritain which was a government body in the tourism sector.

Marcus Winston joined AHJ in June 2024 as a Technician in the Financial & Professional Lines team. Marcus has nearly two years’ experience as an Underwriting Assistant at Barents Re and now joins AHJ to progress on the broking side.

Ole-Morten Fardal rejoined AHJ Europe AS in August 2024 after serving as Head of Reinsurance at Storebrand since 2020. With over 21 years of reinsurance experience, Ole-Morten has held key roles, including account executive for a number of Nordic clients and Managing Director of AHJ Europe AS. Ole-Morten is a member of the AHJ Europe Board of Directors.

Georgina Blackmore joined AHJ in September 2024 as a Broker in the North American Treaty team. Georgina Blackmore was previously a broker at Lockton and prior to this worked on the underwriting side at MS Amlin.
